How speed-to-lead works (the instant text to every enquiry)

The moment someone fills in your quote form, they get a text back. Before you have even looked at your phone.

Speed-to-lead is the thing that makes your SmartSite “smart”. Most enquiries go to whoever replies first, not whoever is best. Speed-to-lead makes sure that is you, by getting a text to every web enquiry the instant it comes in.

What happens the second someone enquires

When a customer fills in your quote form, two things happen at the same time:

  1. The customer gets an instant text that starts a real conversation, something like “Hi Sarah, thanks for getting in touch with [your business]. Got your enquiry about the leaking gutter and I’ll be in touch very shortly.” This fires straight away, before you have even seen the notification.
  2. You get the lead three ways at once: a push notification on your app, an email with their full details, and a text to your mobile. The lead also drops into your inbox and pipeline.

So while you are still reaching for your phone, the customer already knows their enquiry has landed and that a real person is on it. That is often the difference between winning the job and losing it to the next tradesman on Google.

A second text keeps them warm

About five minutes later, the customer gets a follow-up text setting out what happens next, so they stay engaged while you finish what you are doing. You do not have to send either of these. They are automatic.

It is an automated text, not AI

These instant texts are a preset, automated message, not an AI holding a conversation. They open the door and buy you time. Then you take over: you reply to the customer yourself, in the same thread, from your inbox, whenever you get a free moment. From there it is a normal chat: quote, book, done.

What you do, and what we do

You do nothing to set this up. We wire your quote form into the instant-text flow during your build and write the wording. Your only job is to reply to the conversation when you can. If you ever want to change the wording, contact support and we will sort it.

Where to go next

If you ever wonder whether a lead actually came through, the article on checking your form is working walks you through it. And turning on notifications makes sure you hear about every new lead the second it arrives.
