What your photos are for and how to send them
Real photos of your work are one of the most powerful things on your site. Here is why, and how to get them to us.
Your own photos of your real work are one of the most valuable things on your whole system. They are what make a customer believe you can do the job. We never use stock images or made up pictures of your work, which means we rely on you to send us the real thing. It is worth doing well.
Why your photos matter so much
People buy from tradesmen they trust, and nothing builds trust faster than seeing a job done well. A page with real before and after shots, tidy finished work and a clear picture of you or your van does far more than any clever wording. They show up in three places that all matter:
- Your website, on your homepage, your service pages and your work gallery.
- Your Google Business Profile, where photos help you stand out in the local map results.
- Your social media, because your five star reviews can be posted automatically and your work is part of how your brand looks online.
What makes a good photo
You do not need a professional camera. A modern phone is fine. A few simple things make a big difference:
- Good light. Natural daylight is best. Avoid dark, blurry shots.
- The finished job. Clean, tidy, completed work sells. Before and after pairs are gold.
- A clear subject. Get close enough that it is obvious what the job was.
- A mix. Different jobs, different services, your van, your team. Variety fills more of the site.
- Your own photos only. They must be jobs you have actually done, not pictures from the internet.
How to send them
Send them to us whichever way is easiest:
- WhatsApp is usually simplest from a phone.
- Email them to contact@buildmyservice.co.uk.
If you have a lot, send them in batches rather than waiting until you have the perfect set. A steady trickle of real job photos keeps your site, your Google profile and your social looking fresh. Just tell us roughly what each one shows if it is not obvious.
A note during your build
Real photos are needed to finish your site, so getting them to us early is one of the most helpful things you can do to keep your build moving. If you are short on photos to begin with, send what you have, and add more as you complete jobs. We will slot them in for you whenever they arrive.
