How to request a change to your website
You do not edit the site yourself. You tell us what you want and we make the change.
Your website is looked after for you. You do not log in and edit it yourself, and you do not need to. When you want something changed, you simply tell us and we make the change. This keeps your site fast, secure and built properly, and it means you never have to worry about breaking anything.
How to ask for a change
Send us your request one of two ways:
- WhatsApp, which is usually the quickest, or
- Email us at contact@buildmyservice.co.uk
You can also use the Contact support button at the bottom of any help page. Whichever you choose, it reaches a real person.
What to include
The more detail you give us, the faster we can make the change with no back and forth. Try to include:
- Which page the change is on, for example your homepage, your About page, or a specific service page. The page link or the page title is perfect.
- What you want changed, in plain words. For example “swap the phone number in the header” or “the price on the boiler page is out of date”.
- The new wording or detail, exactly as you want it to read.
- Any photos, attached to the message, if the change involves new images of your work.
A quick example: “On my Bathrooms page, please change the opening line to read … and add these three photos.”
How long it takes
We reply to every request within one working day, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Most small changes such as wording, a phone number, opening hours or a photo swap are done quickly once we have what we need. Bigger jobs, like a brand new page, take a little longer and we will tell you a timescale when you ask.
A couple of things to know
- We are not an emergency or out-of-hours service. If something urgent comes up with a live customer, deal with the customer first and send us the request, and we will pick it up.
- If you are not sure whether something is a quick fix or a bigger job, just ask. There is no wrong question.
If your change is adding a service or correcting a small detail, the guide below walks through exactly what to send.
